3 Ways to Break The Hard Province of Your World


What is the province of your world? What causes it to harden in the first place?  What does it take to break this hardened province?

Your mind is the province of your world.  Habits, quirks, desires, ambitions, hopes, wishes constantly bounce inside the walls of the mind like  balls in a Super Lotto draw machine. Different thoughts in different colors rise in the air bouncing, tossing, rattling and hitting the boundaries of the mind.  Same balls hitting the same spots inside the ball and the ball gets harder and harder with reinforced thoughts that become opinions, comparisons,  judgments and resentments.  As the speed and randomness of these thoughts increase, the outer layers of the mind harden. This hardened province of your mind, the territory of your Being, gets harder by the day, trapping you –  feeling isolated and lonely.  You become increasingly unhappy and dissatisfied with life in general.

Does that hard shell need a sharp blow or a soft tap or a piercing drill to break and let the soft centre ooze out wetting our dry hearts so we can feel others beyond us?  What does it take to break the hardened province of our world?

There are 3 simple ways to break the hardened province of your world.

  1. Sit for 5 minutes a day in silence.  Let those balls of thoughts tumble, churn and turn in the mind hitting the walls hard but not process them.  10 random thoughts will rise competing with each other within 10 seconds and 10 random thoughts will fall back in. Just observe them rise and fall as you would when the lotto draw happens on the screen.  This observation for as little as 5 minutes a day, creates a space between you, your thoughts and your mind.  That space is often enough to soften the hard shell and allow us to emerge to join the Universe.
  2. Read inspiring Literature, Stories, Sacred Poetry everyday for 10 minutes at least. This acts like soft rain after a long drought. It soaks the hard shell to soften and in that little time, the wet  mind will start to crumble and collapse as the heart sprouts through soaked walls.
  3. Write 5 things that you are grateful for in your life.  It will take less than 5  minutes to write and this is the fertilizer of ‘weed and feed’ that you are adding to your wet soaked  mind.  Gratitude, whilst feeding the thoughts of fulfillment, also kills the weeds of jealousy and dissatisfaction in general arising out of comparisons and judgments

As your mind soaks in the rain of Gratitude, the hardened province gradually softens and soon the flowers of Compassion, Kindness and Empathy bloom filling the atmosphere with the fragrance of your Soul.  You are  no longer encased in a hard shell instead you will be flowing in a Stream of Grace.

Tending with Stillness and tilling the land of your mind with Inspiration, feeding it everyday with the fertilizer of Thanksgiving, the bounty of Compassion that you will produce will not only break the hardened province of your world but makes your life an unrepeatable mystery as you will give your all to the world.
